The multi-award-winning live action outdoor theatre spectacular is set in the beautifully landscaped grounds of Kynren, nestled at the bottom of the escarpment on which Auckland Palace, Bishop Auckland, proudly sits, and takes guests on a spellbinding journey through two thousand years of history, myth and legend, as we join young Arthur on his epic quest.
Gates open at least two and a half hours before the start of each show. Pre-dinner drinks can be purchased from our bar on an exclusive lakeside terrace with views of Auckland Palace.
Travel back in time and visit the Viking Village! You'll be able to talk and interact with the villagers as they go about their daily lives, visit the cookhouse, see them tend to the animals, prepare meals and watch the blacksmith at work in his forge producing real chainmail! Just be careful as the Viking warriors are preparing for a raid! Part of the pre-show entertainment at Kynren this season.
Kynren takes place at 11 Arches Park in Bishop Auckland, and a town steeped in history spanning the Romans, generations of powerful Prince Bishops, horse-racing, and the Industrial Revolution.We have been recommended to get to the showground early, for ease with parking and for our clients to be directed to their reserved seating area.FridayAfter local pick-ups we make our way to Durham for some time to explore this wonderful city with its Norman Cathedral and huge selection of shops, pubs and cafes galore and time for lunch, before continuing to our hotel for the next 2 nights The Mercure George Washington Hotel, Washington, Tyne and Wear (Tea/Coffee on arrival and Evening Meal Included)SaturdayAfter a leisurely breakfast we make our way to the City of Newcastle for a day at leisure. The city is plentiful with bars, restaurants and the famous Quayside where you could enjoy a river cruise on the Tyne. Both the Quayside and Newcastle are full of beautiful buildings and sights not to mention historic buildings. Get a taste of the local glamour and see Newcastle from the River Tyne for a once in a lifetime experience, along with lots of shops and places to visit. Later in the afternoon we return to the hotel for an early dinner before heading to Bishop Auckland and Auckland Castle to take our seats for the show of a lifetime - Kynren, An Epic Tale.
