FAMOUS LOCHS AND DISTILLERIESA popular tour in Scotland combines visits to a famous loch with an included cruise, taking the high road through the trossachs national park with a visit to a whisky distillery for a taste and tour, a visit to see the beautiful Kelpies Horse Statues with visits to Historic Scottish Towns and Villages whilst taking in the wonderful scenery of Scotland. The Kelpies and Stirling.  In Scottish folklore, a Kelpie is a dangerous shape-shifting water creature that can appear on land as a horse. The kelpie appears to their human victims as a grey or white horse, entices them to ride on their back, then carries them down to a watery grave.  In this particular instance The Kelpies are a Yorkshire made pair of monumental steel horse-heads situated just off the M9 Motorway and they represent Scotlands Industrial Age.  A sight to behold and not to be missed.  The Kelpies were made at Sherburn in Elmet, near Leeds.  On leaving the Kelpies we make our way to the ancient Scottish town of Kings, Stirling.  Stirling is primarily famous for its historical significance, particularly during the Wars of Scottish Independence, and its iconic Stirling Castle a royal palace and fortress and Stirling Gael.  The city is also known for the National Wallace Monument commemorating William Wallace, and its well-preserved Old Town with historic buildings, cobbled streets and independent shops.  Loch Lomond, Trossachs & Loch Lomond Cruise. Forming a significant part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Loch Lomond is the largest loch in terms of area. It is known for its stunning scenery, including rolling hills and the peak of Ben Lomond. After a leisurely breakfast, we make our way to Balloch where we start our day with a wonderful cruise on this famous Loch before we "take the high road" and visit the lovely shore side village of Luss, situated right on the shores of Loch Lomond, and where the T.V show Take the High Road was filmed. Glengoyne Whisky Distillery, Callender and Aberfoyle.  This morning, after a leisurely breakfast we make our way through the Trossachs National Park to the pretty little town of Callender, where Dr Finlay's Casebook was filmed before making our way to Aberfoyle and its lovely Woollen Mill with the possibility of seeing some real Scottish Highland Coos.   This afternoon we make our way to the Glengoyne Distillery where we have a tour and taste and a wee dram of the good stuff.   Glengoyne would say, that sometimes the right way is the long way.  The Glengoyne Distillery has been making its single malt scotch whisky since 1833.  A highland distillery on Glasgow's doorstep. Glengoyne is distilled more slowly than any other malt whisky.Accommodation.  The Rob Roy Hotel, Aberfoyle.   The Rob Roy Hotel is wonderfully situated in idyllic countryside at the gateway to the glorious Trossachs and is set within Scotland’s first National Park. Titanic & The Causeway Coast

Mon 21/06/27 - 5 Days

From £750.750 pp

From £750.00 pp!

Come along and visit the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal and the Causeway Coastline in County Antrim, with some iconic excursions to the popular Giants Causeway and the Old Bushmills Distillery.  Explore the historic city of Derry or Londonderry with a guided tour of the impressive Guildhall and discover the story of this fascinating walled city.  We have also included a visit to Titanic Belfast, the worlds largest Titanic and Visitor Exhibition situated on Belfast Docks. Titanic Belfast is the world's most authentic Titanic visitor experience, which is located.beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock, on the spot where the famous ship was designed, built and launched.  The iconic building features the self-guided Titanic Experience which tells the story of RMS Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through to her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end.  The self-guided Titanic Experience extends over nine interpretive and interactive galleries, which explore the sights, sounds, smells and stories of RMS Titanic, as well as the city and people. Derry GuildhallSitting within reach of our famous 400-year-old Walls is one of the City’s most recognisable - and arguably one of the most stunning - landmarks, the Guildhall. It has been in the heart of city life since 1887 and the auburn brick building is the anchor for the buzzing Guildhall Square. The Guildhall’s most arresting feature is its collection of stunning stained-glass windows. Donated by London Companies, they represent everything from fishmongers to musicians.Recognise the Guildhall Clock? It was modelled on London’s Big Ben.  Fashioned in a neo-gothic style, the Guildhall is one of the most striking buildings in the North West and was originally built in 1887 by The Honourable The Irish Society. The red sandstone building is of neo-gothic architecture, with Tudor overtones. The building’s staircase, main hall organ and corridors give a fascinating insight into this distinctive building’s history.  As well as being home to the impressive stained-glass windows.Derry-Londonderry is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fourth-largest city on the island of Ireland.  In 1608, the small town of Derry was in ruins after the onslaught by the Irish rebellion against the invasion of the English. Elizabeth I ordered the building of the City Walls to safeguard a new town against powerful local chiefs trying to recapture their lands. So, between 1613 and 1618, the City of London Companies funded the building of the city’s walls to bring thick, strong defences for the people within. To repay the London Companies for this, the prefix London was set against Derry and so became Londonderry.Giants Causeway.  Few places are quite as mythological as the Giant’s Causeway.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site on Northern Ireland’s north coast, its vast sweep of hexagonal stones has fascinated generations of scientists and storytellers. Today, this otherworldly landscape tells two tales at once: the ancient volcanic forces that shaped it millions of years ago, and the enduring legend of the Irish Giant Finn McCool and his rival Scottish Giant Benandonner. The Old Bushmills Distillery is an Irish Whiskey Distillery in Bushmill, County Antrim.   It was established in 1784.  The distillery is a popular tourist attraction, with around 120,000 visitors per year. It produces the Bushmills brand of Irish whiskey.Whats included Escorted Luxury Coach Travel with reserved seating Experienced Tour Driver & Courier Extra legroom and comfortable seats USB charging points and Free WiFi onboard the coach Ferries from Cairnryan to Belfast and return 1 overnight hotel at North West Castle Hotel, Stranraer - outbound journey 3 nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast at Redcastle Ocean Golf & Spa Hotel, County Donegal Refreshments served onboard the coach (small fee) Porterage included Excursions.Belfast Titanic ExperienceBushmills Whisky Distillery with guided tourThe Giants CausewayLondonderry (Derry) with a guided tour of the Guildhall
