Enjoy a week in some of England's classic towns & villages. Lets explore how the other half live with visits to Winchester with its glorious Cathedral, Petersfield with its quaint market town, museums and galleries, the Royal Town of Windsor with the oldest occupied royal palace and see how the wealthy enjoy life with a cruise on the Thames at Henley on Thames, home to the famous Henley Regatta with a visit to the Brooklands Museum to see the birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation and a relaxing time at RHS Wisley to give inspiration to the keen gardeners in you, visit the butterfly house, Wild Garden, Aboretum and spectacular Floral Displays.
Day One
We depart the local area making our way to our hotel for the next four nights The Lismoyne Hotel in Fleet, Hampshire. with a stop en-route.
Day Two
This morning we travel to the Brooklands Museum and enjoy a self-guided visit at the birthplace of British Motorsport and Aviation. Explore the museum at your own pace as you learn about speed, flight and adventure and those historical pioneers who immersed themselves in glamour and bravery. This afternoon we travel to the splendid Royal Horticultural Society Garden at Wisley. For the keen gardener, this place is full of inspiration. Wisley offers ideas galore with the Wild Garden, Glasshouse, Model Gardens, Fruit Field, Aboretum and Floral Displays.
Day Three
This morning we enjoy a drive to the historic town of Winchester. Here we can visit the citys cathedral and enjoy exploring the high street or many museums in the town. Later this afternoon we visit Petersfield, a quaint market town with a variety of local shops. This town is home to a museum and art gallery well worth visiting.
Day Four
This morning we have a short drive taking in some of the beautiful Berkshire countryside as we head to Henley-on-Thames, famous for its annual regatta. We enjoy time exploring this pretty town before having a short cruise on the River Thames. Afterwards we head to Royal Windsor where, if you choose, you can visit Windsor Castle or just browse the many shops in the historic Railway Station and surrounding streets or if you are feeling energetic you may wish to walk across the bridge and see Eton College. If you just feel like relaxing, however, maybe enjoy another cruise with the French Brothers Cruises down on the River Thames in Windsor or just enjoy a stroll along the river and purchase some food to feed the geese, swans and ducks.
Day Five
After a leisurely breakfast we begin our journey home with a stop en-route. Aiming to arrive back in the local area around dinner time.
