Titanic & The Causeway Coast

Come along and visit the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal and the Causeway Coastline in County Antrim, with some iconic excursions to the popular Giants Causeway and the Old Bushmills Distillery.  Explore the historic city of Derry or Londonderry with a guided tour of the impressive Guildhall and discover the story of this fascinating walled city.  We have also included a visit to Titanic Belfast, the worlds largest Titanic and Visitor Exhibition situated on Belfast Docks.

Titanic Belfast is the world's most authentic Titanic visitor experience, which is located.beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock, on the spot where the famous ship was designed, built and launched.  The iconic building features the self-guided Titanic Experience which tells the story of RMS Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through to her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end.  The self-guided Titanic Experience extends over nine interpretive and interactive galleries, which explore the sights, sounds, smells and stories of RMS Titanic, as well as the city and people.

Derry Guildhall
Sitting within reach of our famous 400-year-old Walls is one of the City’s most recognisable - and arguably one of the most stunning - landmarks, the Guildhall. It has been in the heart of city life since 1887 and the auburn brick building is the anchor for the buzzing Guildhall Square.

The Guildhall’s most arresting feature is its collection of stunning stained-glass windows. Donated by London Companies, they represent everything from fishmongers to musicians.
Recognise the Guildhall Clock? It was modelled on London’s Big Ben.  Fashioned in a neo-gothic style, the Guildhall is one of the most striking buildings in the North West and was originally built in 1887 by The Honourable The Irish Society. The red sandstone building is of neo-gothic architecture, with Tudor overtones. The building’s staircase, main hall organ and corridors give a fascinating insight into this distinctive building’s history.  As well as being home to the impressive stained-glass windows.

Derry-Londonderry is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fourth-largest city on the island of Ireland.  In 1608, the small town of Derry was in ruins after the onslaught by the Irish rebellion against the invasion of the English. Elizabeth I ordered the building of the City Walls to safeguard a new town against powerful local chiefs trying to recapture their lands. So, between 1613 and 1618, the City of London Companies funded the building of the city’s walls to bring thick, strong defences for the people within. To repay the London Companies for this, the prefix London was set against Derry and so became Londonderry.

Giants Causeway.  Few places are quite as mythological as the Giant’s Causeway.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site on Northern Ireland’s north coast, its vast sweep of hexagonal stones has fascinated generations of scientists and storytellers. Today, this otherworldly landscape tells two tales at once: the ancient volcanic forces that shaped it millions of years ago, and the enduring legend of the Irish Giant Finn McCool and his rival Scottish Giant Benandonner.

The Old Bushmills Distillery is an Irish Whiskey Distillery in Bushmill, County Antrim.   It was established in 1784.  The distillery is a popular tourist attraction, with around 120,000 visitors per year. It produces the Bushmills brand of Irish whiskey.
