Killarney and The Ring of Kerry
The Ring of KerryThere’s so much to see and do on this glorious holiday around the coastline of southern Ireland and we make sure you don’t miss a thing! Stunning scenery, awe-inspiring views and world-famous attractions, this wonderful holiday is based in the centre of Killarney. No visit to this corner of Ireland would be complete without experiencing the spectacular Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. We will enjoy beautiful scenery as we travel around the ring and peninsula – make sure you have your camera ready.
The Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park are two closely linked attractions in County Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is a scenic 179km (111-mile) circular road route along the Iveragh Peninsula, while Killarney National Park is a vast, protected area of mountains, lakes, and woodlands at the foot of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks mountain range. The park is a key part of the Ring of Kerry route, with many scenic spots within its borders, including Torc Waterfall and the Lakes of Killarney.
Dingle Peninsula This is one of the most scenic drives in the country that will surprise you with
jagged coast, ancient sites. We head around the Dingle Peninsula, a superb panorama of sandy beaches, soaring mountains and fascinating rock formations. Stretching 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, from the south-west coast of Ireland, it boasts the most beautifully rugged coastline. We first visit the picturesque fishing town of Dingle before heading west to Slea Head, Europe’s most westerly point. We head westwards to call in at Slea Head, from where we get a dramatic view out towards the rugged Blasket Islands, known as the ‘next parish to America’. We then tour the beautiful coastline used in the film 'Ryan’s Daughter'. Each turn provides spectacular views of long, sandy beaches, breathtaking cliffs and hidden bays. Later in the day, we enjoy some free time in the picturesque harbour town of Dingle.
Killarney A day at leisure to enjoy and relax in this wonderful small town with its many enjoyable activities. We have included a one hour jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park to the Castle with time to relax and take in the parks flora and fauna and beautiful scenery, with perhaps a visit to Killarney House and Gardens. Time to explore Killarney old town with its distinctive irish feel, head to a traditional irish pub for a pint of the "black stuff" and listen to some wonderful irish jokes and music. After dinner, why not go and see the amazing award winning irish dance, song and music show, the one and the only fabulous "Celtic Steps" (pre-bookable).
Jaunting Cars, Killarney - Gaelic chieftains and their castles evoke the history of Ireland. We step back in time to the 15th Century Ross Castle, fortress of the local chieftain O’ Donoghue Mor.
Enjoy Irish tradition at its best, purest form - come on board a Jaunting car and take a unique tour around this place that brings back so many memories. Visit some of Killarney’s many beautiful, worth-seeing spots. While on tour, your eye is drawn to the majestic, historic high spire of St Mary’s Cathedral. This one of a kind tour through history, legend & folklore rambles its way along Killarney National Park and Deer Parks. As you travel through the park, you will see the home ground of the Red Deer, Ireland’s largest native land mammal, and learn that they have been in the country since the last ice age; some 10,000 years ago! Indeed, this place tells so many wonderful stories. Your tour journey takes you through areas where, for your convenience, no motor traffic is permitted, allowing you to experience an absolute paradise. As you enjoy your tour experience, you will be told of stories relating to events that have taken place in the areas. Hear about the Legend of the Lake and the rich history of Ross Castle, this restored 15th century Castle, allows for a real glimpse of ancient Ireland at its finest. Ross Castle was home to the legendary Gaelic Chieftain O’Donoghue Ross and the last Irish fortress to fall to Cromwell in 1652. As the tour comes to its end, your guests will be awed by the experience.
