Settle - Carlisle Railway
Enjoy a a ride on one of the UK's most scenic railway journeys across the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbrian Hills, stopping or passing some wonderful little stations such as Appleby, Dent Station, Garside and going over the famous Ribblehead (Batty Moss) Viaduct. See if you can spot Ruswarp the brave little dog at Dent Station.
Our journey begins at the little station in Settle where we board our train, with the chance of a volunteer guide to give some history of the Settle-Carlisle Line and a refreshment trolley this is a ride not to be missed.
Once in Carlisle you will have a few hours to explore or just get a bite to eat. Carlisle is the last city inside the UK border before entering the Scottish Borders. This wonderful historic city is full of places to discover, the old Gael, Carlisle Castle and lots of shops and cafes.
