Famous names associated with the town include Agatha Christie, Rudyard Kipling, Charles Darwin and Isambard Kingdom Brunel, all of whom would have been able to experience the horseshoe-shaped bay, beautiful gardens and historic locations. South Devon offers a great choice of scenery from rolling countryside to sandy beaches and quaint Devon villages. With some lovely places of interest on your doorstep, such as the famous Tor Abbey and Gardens, Babbacome Miniature Village and Theatre and Kents Caverns with some lovely villages and towns to explore such as Teignmouth, Brixham, Dartmouth, Newton Abbott, Buckfast Abbey, Totnes and the House of Marbles you will be spoiled for choice.
